Summer Cottages are the best vacations EVER! Join @LinkedMoms and @ParkbridgeLife for a Twitter Party–Wed. April 13
Gallagher Lake, South Okanagan, British Columbia
I’ve been dreaming of summer cottages these last few years. I remember a while ago when my siblings toyed over the idea of getting a family cottage where all the kids could go and play during the summer. Nothing big or fancy. Somewhere close and full of activities that would keep them occupied and us happy. All you want in a summer property is to have maintenance free living with amenities that are easily accessible in popular areas. Who wouldn’t want to have a place at Wasaga Beach, the Kawartha Lakes or even Muskoka. In Ontario we are so familiar with these resort areas that we take it for granted that we can find a cottage rental fairly easily. A couple of summers ago, I was able to visit a Parkbridge Lifestyle Community at Lakes of Wasaga.
We had a great time with the kids and we never had to worry about a thing. That is the best part! It was very safe and secure with gated access to the community, on-site management and maintenance. We stayed at one of over 21 resorts in Ontario in the Parkbridges family of RV resorts and lifestyle communities throughout Canada.
You can find a summer cottage or community in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. Check out the resorts on their website and browse the map, or search resorts by name. Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities Inc. (“Parkbridge”) is Canada’s leading owner, operator and developer of residential land lease communities, recreational resorts and marinas. Established in 1998, Parkbridge’s portfolio has grown significantly from two original properties with 650 sites. In early 2013, the company surpassed the milestone of 100 properties with over 27,500 operational and potential expansion sites. With that kind of experience and depth of properties, you will have many to choose from. You can select from adult-only retirement communities, marina locations situated on some of Canada’s most popular lakes, RV and mobile home or family lifestyle communities. How can so many people own properties in Parkbridge community? It becomes very affordable by having a land lease.
“ When you buy a home in one of our Family or Retirement Lifestyle residential communities, or in one of our Cottage & RV Resorts, you don’t have to buy the lot it’s on, so it becomes a lot less expensive to own.” ~ Parkbridge
Not having to buy the lot means that you get can own a property without having a large mortgage. You can see in the picture below that these are not necessarily small properties or RV parks but year-round family communities. They are developed to create a relaxing experience with pool facilities, lake access, community centers, parks and trails.
When we were in Lakes of Wasaga we stayed in a two bedroom bungalow with all the amenities: a full kitchen, bathroom, living room and spacious bedrooms. We had a beautiful porch at the front and a screened in deck in the back with plenty of room for a patio table and chairs to enjoy the summer evening. Our view was of a beautifully pond and gardens. We enjoyed many of the activities that they had on-site. There was a corn roast that I still think about because it was the best corn I’ve ever tasted in my life!
I’m hoping to return to a Parkbrige community this summer in British Columbia and introduce my in-laws more cottage life!
